U2713HM, Latitude e7470, Dell E-Port II PR03X, trying to get 2560x1440 resolution

I'm having difficulty getting a high resolution on my external monitor.  I'm at a loss.

My Latitude e7470 laptop with Windows 10 will display 2560x1440 resolution on its screen but NOT on my external  U2713HM monitor.  For some reason it thinks the monitor only goes up to 1920 x 1200.

Things I've tried:

  • Original DVI-D cable from dock to monitor
  • Updating laptop display driver (Intel HD Graphics 520)
  • Using DVI-D to display port adapter, plugging into display port on dock side and DVI on monitor side
  • Plugging in HDMI cable directly to laptop and trying to force alternate resolution at lower refresh rate (something I successfully did with my previous Toshiba ultrabook on Windows 7)

My next thought is to order a pure display port cable, but 1) not sure if that would fix my problems and 2) my mac is currently using that port on the monitor so I'd be creating new problems.

Any ideas?  Frustrated as this feels stupid - the high resolution on the little laptop screen isn't even useful, I want it on my big monitor!

First, these are the maximum supported resolutions for each U2713HM in port =
DP (DisplayPort) 2560x1440 60Hz
VGA 2048x1152 60Hz
DVI-D DL (Dual Length) 2560x1440 60Hz
HDMI 1920x1080 60Hz, 2560x1440 30Hz

* Laptop HDMI out to monitor HDMI. Changing the refresh rate should have worked.

* Dock DVI-D out maximum resolution, unknown, still checking.

* Dock DP out to monitor DVI-D should work. The cable is suspect. All I am seeing are DP to DVI-D DL adapters, not a straight cable?
Dock DP out --> DP to DVI-D DL adapter --> DVI to DVI cable --> U2713HM DVI in

I would remove the dock and test just the Latitude e7470 directly to the U2713HM. This will prove if the Latitude e7470 mDP out and U2713HM DP in are functional or not =

:emotion-1: This works:
Latitude e7470 mDP out --> U2713HM mDP to DP cable --> U2713HM DP in

There is enough extra space behind the machine so I can plug it in while on the dock, so it's a today-solution.

I guess next I should buy an adapter I'm certain will go from Display Port to Dual Link DVI and try that from the dock?
