U2713HM, Radeon HD7870, max resolution?

I'm considering buying this monitor, but with all the talk about HDMI not supporting max resolution I'm wondering if my video card is able to get me up to the max resolution. I do have a DVI port, but I am not sure if it is dual or not.  I have a GIGABYTE RADEON HD 7870.

I would appreciate any feedback, along with any suggestions for a cable that I would need to buy to support the resolution. Also, if I use something other than HDMI, does it degrade quality ? All I use this computer for is gaming.

Thanks!

So do I need the combination of the three ports to achieve this resolution?
* No. Just port to port.

video card DVI-D port --> Dell DVI-D to DVI-D cable --> U2713HM DVI-D port = 2560x1440
video card mDP port --> mDP to DP cable (not provided by Dell) --> U2713HM DP port = 2560x1440

Thanks Chris.  So do I need the combination of the three ports to achieve this resolution? What cables would I need to purchase in addition to the monitor?

skylan,

The other reviews for that card state that it does have a DVI-D DL port. So it and the two mDP ports should do 2560x1440 on the U2713HM. The HDMI will only do 1920x1080 on the U2713HM.
