U2715H flickering/signal loss

This thread is similar to this: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19679156

I have a monitor that goes through periods of flickering fits where it looks as though signal is being lost between the PC and the monitor. This same monitor also has a habit of getting distorted resolution. The pixels get very blurry and text becomes unreadable. I attached a visual aid to the problems below. The resolution one is hard to capture accurately so

Flickering issue is almost exactly this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTZKGiKwJYM

Resolution issue is this: http://imgur.com/vBqOn12

I have a Dell U2715H monitor that I have hooked up to an HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF with an nVidia NVS 510 GPU installed. There are 4 U2715H monitors in total, but only this one is having the issues. All monitors are being directly connected to the GPU with mDP and DP connecting to the monitor.

The things I have done so far include:

  • Replaced the power cable
  • Replaced the display cable
  • Replaced the GPU
  • Seated the GPU in a different PCIe slot
  • Replaced the monitor itself
  • Installed latest nVidia drivers for the GPU
  • Installed latest Intel Grpahics driver
  • Installed latest Intel Chipset driver
  • Installed latest Intel Management Engine driver
  • Enabled the DP 1.2 setting on the monitor

Other things to note would be that we are using the same PCs (some with and some without the GPU) and U2715Hs in other places and they are not experiencing problems.

How does this monitors 20 digit serial number and A0x revision compare to the working ones? Did you test working cable from other U2715H on this problem one?

This one has a s/n of CN-0H7YCC-64180-617-xxxx Rev. A02

If I look at the s/n + revision of two of the working ones, I get:

1. CN-0H7YCC-64180-617-xxxx Rev. A02

2. CN-0VGTFG-64180-5AJ-xxxx Rev. A02

I also tried the known-good cable in the poorly working one. But it will take some time to know whether it fixed anything. Its not a constant flickering, so I will just wait and see on that. But I have replaced the cable already with a new one and experienced problems.

So two of them (617) were manufactured in the same batch. Perhaps that one is just faulty. Get it exchanged.

I'm trying to avoid another replacement as I have already replaced this monitor once already. Its not encouraging that a second replacement will do the trick.
