U2717D, won't wake from sleep
I have a two monitor set-up with a U2717D connected via mDP and a Dell F2005W via DVI. Windows 10. Radeon HD 5870
When ether the screen saver or PC puts the the monitors to sleep. The U2717D won't wake and I get an on monitor error the mDP connection can't be found. My work around is to cycle the power of monitor, then it is recognized, and the connection is made. This however messes up the placement of any windows I may have open.
Dell Display Manager is installed and after reinstalling the Radeon drivers it actually now recognizes the U2717D
Any help troubleshooting is welcome.

Just installing the version of DDM (as of 12/20/17, version 1.31.1899) did not resolve the issue.
However, knowing it is a software issue, I began isolating and disabling monitor related start-up software. The culprit was DisplayFusion v9.1 which I was using to manage multi-monitor backgrounds. Once DisplayFusion was removed, both the U2717D and 2005FPW work as they should -- as does Dell Display Manager.
Thanks for the help Chris M.

* Turn all three off (computer, U2717D, 2005FPW)
* Disconnect the 2005FPW and its cable from the Radeon HD 5870 DVI out port
* Turn the computer and U2717D on
* Retest. What are the results?

Hi Chris,
With the 2005FPW disconnected, the U2717D wakes from sleep as expected. However, Dell Display Manager won't recognize the monitor without cycling the U2717D power.

By disconnecting the 2005 and not having the wake up issue, this shows that the U2717D is fine on a hardware level. The culprit is software, either the operating system or some driver. The 2005 is still disconnected. Uninstall DDM. Restart the computer. Install this (as of 12/20/17, version 1.31.1899) DDM. Restart the computer. Retest.

I have not used DisplayFusion. But it appears to perform similar functions as the DDM. In your opinion, is it better than DDM? Could you choose to run DisplayFusion instead of DDM?

DisplayFusion is all around a great product. I've been using it for years. It was really the best option for managing desktop wallpapers on multiple monitors before Windrow 10.
Turns out my issue is not completely resolved with the removal of DisplayFusion. While the U2717D will wake up properly from sleep if I manually set the PC to sleep, it will not wake from a "turn off the display" timed setting in windows power option.
