U2718Q, DP/mDP HDR firmware update possible?
Good day everyone,
as the DP/mDP seems to give better color results on this screen than HDMI but is not able to be used with HDR, I am wondering if there is an update to the firmware possible? I have just read about a firmware update of my GPU updating the display port from 1.3 to 1.4 standard via firmware update. Is it possible to update our DP/mDP Port on this screen to 1.3 standard to enable HDR? This would be a really nice thing.

I cannot see into the future, but I do not see this happening since it would be contrary to how we originally sold and marketed it. See the User's Guide page 7;
Product Features = HDR compatible with HDMI 2.0a
and 39 SmartHDR;
NOTE: This function is only available when an HDMI signal is detected
I could see that functionality on a later model with DP 1.4.

I've never heard of using HDR on a computer display, but a Google search reveals it's coming.
My opinion in still that HDR is for Home Theater (Movies and Gaming) ... in which case you would be using HDMI anyway.
