U2718Q, crashes when PS4 Pro turns on

My U2718Q crashes when I turn on the PS (PlayStation) 4 Pro while it is connecting with desktop via DP.

Steps to reproduce
* Turn off U2718Q, Desktop and PS4 Pro
* Connect them via DP and HDMI ports
Asus Radeon RX 570 DP 1.4 out port --> U2718Q DP to mDP cable --> U2718Q mDP in port
PS4 Pro HDMI out port --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> U2718Q HDMI in port
* Turn on Desktop and launch the Windows 10
* Turn on PS4 Pro

Results

It's just a guess, but check if you don't have enabled "HDMI Device Link" in a PS4 (Settings>System>Enable HDMI Device Link). If it is turned on, try to turn it off.

* Turn all three off
* Disconnect the computer DP cable, USB upstream cable, any USB devices from the U2718Q
* This leaves ONLY the HDMI cable connecting the PS4 to the U2718Q
* Turn the U2718Q on
* Turn the PS4 on. What are the results?

* Turn the U2718Q and PS4 off
* Connect both the computer and the PS4 to the U2718Q
* Turn the U2718Q on, then the computer and enter Windows 10
* Before turning the PS4 on, press the U2718Q Input Source button (page 32), check HDMI, then turn
the PS4 on. What are the results?
* Press the U2718Q Input Source button, check DP. What are the results?

You could initiate a monitor exchange. Notate and compare the monitors 20 digit serial numbers and revisions. Test the replacement before sending any monitor back to Dell. If both have the same issue, return the replacement.

When the monitor is freshly started(unplugged power before test), input sources can be changed, therefore the suggested test procedures are working.

However after using with displayport for awhile, switching on the PS4 will crash the monitor instantly.

I am not sure if there is firmware bug or just my monitor's fault.

"However after using with displayport for awhile, switching on the PS4 will crash the monitor instantly."

Before turning the PS4 on, press the U2718Q Input Source button (page 32), check HDMI, then turn the PS4 on. When doing this, does the U2718Q crash?

It will crash the monitor if I have been using the desktop for a moment

I am just experiencing exactly same issue. dp to desktop, hdmi to ps4 pro.

When I use desktop with dp signal for a while, and then turn on the ps4 pro, monitor just freezes.

Any further information?

No further information. You did not state if you are switching to HDMI in the U2718Q Input Source BEFORE turning the PS4 Pro on?

*** Mar 2018 updates ***

After contacting with Dell's support, they exchanged another monitor to me. However same issue happens with the replaced monitor. They advised it is possible due to hardware compatibility issues. I requested a refund and waiting them to proceed.

Test this =

* Turn all three off (U2718Q, PC, PS4 Pro)
* Disconnect the PC and all of its cabling from the U2718Q
* Connect only the PS4 Pro to the U2718Q via the HDMI to HDMI cable
* Turn the U2718Q on
* Turn the PS4 Pro on
* Go into the PS4 Pro Video Output Settings
* Choose 1080p
* Exit the PS4 Pro settings back to the Main menu
* Turn the PS4 Pro off
* Turn the U2718Q off
* Reconnect the PC video card to the U2718Q via the U2718Q mDP to DP cable
* Turn the U2718Q on
* Turn the PC on and get to the Windows 10 desktop
* Turn the PS4 Pro on

What happens?

I have exact same problem.

Monitor is connected to PC (GF 1050 Ti) using DisplayPort (GPU) -> mDisplayPort (Monitor) cable.

As for PS4 I use HDMI cable added to the console.

If the PC is turned on, and I power on PS4 I can still use PC normally, but none of the buttons on monitor work.

If I switch to HDMI input before powering on the PS4 monitor crashes completley.

I did not buy 4k monitor to use 1080p mode on my console, that supports 4k resolution.

All software and firmware is up to date.

Dell HDR is a two step process. You have to change both the Windows 10 Display setting and in the monitor OSD (On Screen Display).

When using the Windows desktop or any other non-HDR content, HDR should be Off
* If applicable for your monitor model, change the monitor OSD -Color -Preset Modes to any non-HDR mode
* If applicable for your monitor model, change the monitor OSD -Display -Smart HDR to Off
* Right click on Windows 10 Display Settings
* Switch HDR and advanced colors to Off

When using an HDR Game or Movie, HDR should be On
* If applicable for your monitor model, change the monitor OSD -Color -Preset Modes to Game HDR or Movie HDR
* If applicable for your monitor model, change the monitor OSD -Display -Smart HDR to On, Normal REC 2020, or Vivid DCI-P3
* Right click on Windows 10 Display Settings
* Switch HDR and advanced colors to On

I think that the issue here is switching from the Windows desktop which is HDR off to PS4 Pro which is HDR on is conflicting. Lets start by testing just the PS4 Pro and the U2718Q with HDR on in both.

Remove the PC and all of its cabling from the troubleshooting. Test only the PS4 Pro and the U2718Q.

PS4 Pro How to enable 4K resolution
* Make sure you are using Premium HDMI cables to connect all devices in the chain

Test this =
* Turn all three off (U2718Q, PC, PS4 Pro)
* Disconnect the PC and all of its cabling from the U2718Q
* Connect only the PS4 Pro to the U2718Q via the HDMI to HDMI cable
* Turn the U2718Q on
* Press the U2718Q Input Source button
* Check HDMI
* Exit the U2718Q Menu
* Turn the PS4 Pro on
* Press the U2718Q Menu button
* Go to Display- Smart HDR
* Change Smart HDR to On
* Exit the U2718Q Menu
* Go into the PS4 Pro Video Output Settings
* Choose 2160p - YUV420
* Set HDR to Automatic
* Set Deep Color to Automatic

What happens?

This issue should also be posted by all of you on the PS4 Pro Forums. This way, you can see if other PS4 Pro users have seen the issue. Maybe they can offer some insight to the issue and a resolution.

So what does this mean? No support from Dell? The problem lies with the U2718Q and not with PS4 pro. PS4 pro works fine with other monitors and TVs, the problem is only present with U2718Q.
