U2719DC, XPS 15-9570, daisy chain reduced resolution

Hello.

Just set up my laptop to two U2719DC via daisy chaining. I can't figure out why one of the U2719DC becomes limited to 2048x1080 resolution (instead of 2560x1440, what it's supposed to be and the other U2719DC is set at). I would like both U2719DC to be at 2560x1440.

Here are some more details:

1) Dell XPS 15 4K Laptop >> USB-C to USB-C >> Dell U2719DC >> Displayport 1.4 (Output) to Displayport 1.4 (Input) >> Dell U2719DC

2. Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti - both drivers are updated, laptop and monitors are connected to Intel.

3. Under 'Display Settings' for the problematic monitor, the maximum resolution is 2048 x 1080

4. Have already gone into Intel UHD Graphics Control Panel to change the resolution, but it's also capped at 2048 x 1080

5. Monitor drivers are updated (both)

6. Monitors are daisy chain compatible

7. Under 'Advanced Display Settings', laptop is set at 59Hz; 2560x1440 monitor is set at 60Hz; 2048x1080 monitor won't let me select any higher than 59Hz.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Please let me know if clarification is required.

If the AC power adapter is connected to the XPS 15-9570 and the setup still does not work, you will need to purchase this TB3/USB Type-C to DP cable.

PC TB3/USB Type-C out port --> TB3/USB Type-C to DP cable --> #1 U2719DC DP in port (Menu- Display- MST On)

#1 U2719DC DP out port --> U2719DC DP to DP cable --> #2 U2719DC DP in port (Menu- Display- MST Off)

It appears that the laptop cannot "drive" all four at once (two U2719DC, keyboard, mouse) through its TB3 out port. Your choices are to connect the keyboard and mouse directly to the laptop USB ports, or purchase a TB3 dock that can support all four devices.

For my notes, click my username and via private message send me one of the monitor service tag number.

In a USB Type-C to DP dual monitor daisy chain setup, the resolution for the secondary U2719DC is totally dependent on the PC source USB Type-C bandwidth.

* What specific laptop model?
* The AC power adapter must be connected to the laptop
* Is the laptop lid open or closed? Test both

Hi Chris,

I purchased the cable you had suggested, and it worked to fix the resolution on both U2719DC; however, my external keyboard and external mouse (which are connected to the 1st U2719DC) aren't recognized anymore. The keyboard light is on, the mouse light is not. Neither are connecting to the setup. Do you have a solution for this? I appreciate the help!
