U3415W monitor with WD15 dock and Precision M5510 - display port not working

Have a new U3415W and trying to get it to work with the WD15 dock MDP:

M5510 laptop > MD15 dock MDP > (supplied MDP->DP cable) > U3415W monitor DP

Monitor works using HDMI, but with trying to use MDP->DP Monitor says "Entering Power Save Mode" and goes black. However with MDP->DP cable plugged into MD15, the laptop switches from 1920 x 1080 to 3440x1440 on it's own screen, and as soon as I unplug the cable it switches the laptop screen back to 1920x1080, so something is happening, just no display on the monitor.

Have set DP 1.1 on the monitor and also tried DP1.2 - makes no difference.

Have upgraded Intel Graphic and M5510 BIOS to latest verion

Monitor was purchased new direct from Dell.

I have tried switching off laptop, monitor, unplugging in pretty much every combination.

Thanks for any help

drar,

Did you test the U3415W directly to a different computer with DP (DisplayPort) out port or mDP out port to verify if the U3415W works? Click the link below for troubleshooting and resolving issues with the WD15.

How to Use and Troubleshoot the Dell Dock WD15

I have a 2010 Mac Book Pro with a mini display port and it does not work with the U3415W either, but that does not surprise me due to the age of that HW. But if DP1.2 is enabled the MacBook definitely can see the monitor at full resolution but the monitor does not display anything

I have worked thru the Troubleshoot Guide above to no avail, I've set the graphics to High Perf too but it makes no difference. Still does not work.

Is there someone on here from Dell who can help me with this or should I return the monitor for a refund?

Thanks

Darren

I'd really like some help with this please - your troubleshooting guide did not work. I still am not able to get the monitor working with mDP or DP.
