UK DELL MONITORS - No Service Tags and no DELL Order number - No support?
Seems if you buy a DELL Ultrasharp 2408WFP in UK that unless you get it from DELL YOURSELF you have no warranty with DELL?
Despite this most UK retailers are touting a 3 YEAR Next Business Day warranty (with DELL). How can this be?
You cannot raise any support issue with DELL unless you have a Service Tag (non-existent) or a serial number (OK thats there) and a DELL order number (ie. you ordered from DELL?).
Anyone care to comment or elucidate? Anyone know what service tag number a 2408wfp monitor actually should have?
The only number I can find (after manufacture date in the format XX-XXX is 82-118 a 1999 German DELL optiplex system? So much for the warranty :(

Monitors don't have service tags. Only computers have those. If you didn't buy it from Dell, contact the place you did buy it from.

Thanks Mary, thats one half of the story.
So why do I need a DELL order number for a 3 year warranty? Clearly I do not.
Why are DELL not requiring registration like everyone to enable support else rather than trying to dis-enfranchise the public? It ain't good for relations?
