UltraSharp LCD monitor goes black intermittently

Hello,

I have a 20" UltraSharp monitor that intermittently goes black during use. When it happens, the input and power LEDs stay lit green. The only way to resolve the issue is to turn off the power button for a few seconds, then turn it back on; it will then work normally again for a random amount of time. I am using the VGA input. It does this on at least 2 different PCs, so I don't think it is a PC problem, and it does not appear to be a screen saver problem.

Thanks for your help,

B.G.

I'm having that issue with a refurbished 2410 that I received to replace another monitor.  It's being sent back as well.

Try booting into your BIOS setup screen (hit esc while booting) and leave it there for a while to see if the monitor will still go black.  That will indicate that it's not a Windows issue.

Perhaps the power supply for the monitor might be over heating?  Try using compressed air to clean any dust out of the monitor vents?  What is the ambient temperature of your room?
