Video card DVI to P2714H DisplayPort?
My Dell Home computer is running Windows 7 and has an NVIDIA Quadro FX1700 with Dual DVI outputs. I purchased two Dell P2714H monitors. DVI to DVI they work great. But I was hoping to plug my laptop (has Micro HDMI) into one of the monitors input so all I had to do was select a different input and it would become a second monitor. I bought a Dell DVI to DisplayPort adapter (KKMYD), and ran from Desktop DVI to adapter plug into DisplayPort on the monitor. The monitor does not recognize the signal. My question is do I need to download any drivers or change any setting to get a signal?
Any help or suggestions would be helpful

Video card DVI out cannot upconvert to a monitor DP via that adapter. What you bought is designed to do the opposite =
Video card DP out --> DP to DVI adapter -->DVI to DVI cable --> Monitor DVI in
So your only option with that video card with dual DVI outs is =
Nvidia Quadro FX1700 DVI out --> DVI to DVI cable --> #1 P2714H DVI in
Nvidia Quadro FX1700 DVI out --> DVI to DVI cable --> #2 P2714H DVI in
Laptop mHDMI out --> mHDMI to VGA converter --> VGA to VGA cable --> P2714H VGA in
