Warranty on 2001FP?
I'm selling my 2001FP on eBay (nothing wrong with it, in fact unlike many it's perfect, no bad pixels, great image, etc) and so I took some time to repack it in the box, and then I started looking for the warranty card (I bought this unit 8/6/04). Well, I can't find a warranty card anywhere, which is not like me, since I never send them in and always save them.
All I've got is a CD (blue), the fold-out color assembly instructions, and the packing slip that came from Dell. So I'm wondering, could some other 2001FP owner remind me what materials I'm SUPPOSED to have? Is this all, or is there more?
1 20" LCD
1 stand
1 fold out (about 13x17") 2-sided unfolded color sheet called "Setting Up Your Monitor"
1 CD marked Dell 2001FP Color Monitor User Documentation
2 8 x 11" sheet called (a) This is not an invoice Packing Slip and (b) Terms & Conditions Agreement
1 power supply with 1 cable attached
1 cord from power supply to outlet
1DVI cable
1 regular video cable
1USB 2 cable (from computer to monitor)
In particular I'm wondering if there was (a) a manual or (b) a warranty card of the type you send in to activate the warranty
Many thanks

What you've listed is pretty much it. The "manual" is (I think) on the CD and you can find it at Dell's site. There is no warranty card. If you bought the monitor new from Dell as a stand-alone, it has a 3-year warranty which is transferrable to the buyer. I know Dell has an on-line form for transferring the warranty which I can't locate right now (I've seen other ebay seller's post a link to this form); so you ought to call Dell Customer Support about it. Its generally the seller that fills out this form and it may be a good idea to get a copy of it before you pack everything up b/c there's information required on the form that you may have to get off the monitor and/or your invoice, etc.

Don't know if this transfer of warranty form is same for monitors (this one for systems), but might work.

No it is not. There is no way to transfer ownership of a Dell LCD. None. No service tag, no transfer. Period.

WHAT HAPPENED? Where did the message you were answering (from a moderator, I believe) go? Seems to have vanished.
Do you work for Dell? Do you have specific information about this? Can you give me a reference or a link?
Many thanks

I then used this link to get to a warranty transfer page.
www.dell.com/us/en/dhs/topics/sbtopic_015_ccare.htm
Entered in the original owner, the service tag and then my name and address.
The system replied that the warranty transfer was successful.
You must have that service tag number, so as you seller for it.
