defective monitor

I believe that the monitor i received with my inspiron 570 is defective, actually more like there was an error in manufacturing it. The monitor is an IN2030m and the base of the monitor seems to not be able to attach to the stand it came with. There is something wrong here with either the monitor or the stand. Would it be possible to get another monitor if i send this one back?

Maybe these pictures will help you figure it out-- accessories.euro.dell.com/.../productdetail.aspx It's for the European version but it is the same. It has more pictures than the US page. Contact Dell Support if you have to, but you should be able to attach it. Place the monitor carefully face down to attach the base. You should have received an instruction sheet.
