To unlock the controls, press and hold the Menu button for about 10-15 seconds. You can also read this.

I dont even know if you come on here anymore but the pop up on my screen is for the resolution the brightness. It constantly pops up and sometimes it goes through the choices sporatically, Exit, Brightness and Contrast.
Since I wrote these two sentences, it came up twice.
