AFTD Device query

Hello,

I have created an AFTD device on my Networker (8.1.3.7) server. The AFTD is configured on a linux DSN, on a remote nas share accessed via NFS.

My issue is when I try to  mount or label a volume I'm getting an error

Error:

Monitor device operation in progress on rd:ausplsodsnpdr01:nw_ausplsodsnppr01_nfs_db_01

My question is: is there a way to kill this process without stopping/restarting networker services on the networker server ?

Tks,

Liam

Hi Liam,

You have to be more specific, if the process is stuck in NetWorker Management Console, then just kill the process from task manager and reopen the NMC console.

If I remember that correctly, this is the message if you have enabled "Auto Media Management". This means tha now the NW server hsa taken control of operating and of course monitoring the device.

Consequently you must disable AMM to re-gain control.

You can stop any nsrmmd process at any time. This should have cleared the issue.

Unfortunately,

  - there is no way to report which process belongs to which device

  - they will be restarted unless you disable the device

Hi Gautam,

Thanks for replying.

There is no specific process to kill unfortunately.

Thanks for the reply.

I believe the issue started by selecting AMM when creating the device.

Unselecting AMM did not resolve it.

The NWBU server was rebooted and resolved the problem, so I was unable to kill the process manually.
