Archive Services

Hello

Some clients have Archive Services ticked under Global 2 of 2. We are not using archiving at all in Networker.

I doubt other application outside Networker can take advantage of it..or any? Probably someone ticked last time.

Does the tick has any impact on backup performance or time? (Couldn't find in Admin guide ,or any other guides, on cons as it only talk about how to configure it and make use it)

You can check manual pages for nsr_client. There you will find:

      archive services    (read/write, choice)

              This attribute determines if this system can use archive services. This attribute can only be set if archive support has been enabled on the server. The choices are enabled or disabled.

              Example: archive services: enabled;

In other words, no impact for you. What above says is that if you use archiving function, you can additionally restrict it by either enabling it or disabling it at this level. Since you do not use it, it has no impact on you at all.
