Backup Hyper-V Guests on a CSV Volume

Hi ,

i have networker 8.0.2.4 on my backup server

also we have cluster of 3 servers (windows server 2012 r2), with networker 8.1.1 client , and nmm 3.0.1

i have configured the client whice represent the cluster name ,the saveset :APPLICATIONS:\Microsoft Hyper-V,

backup command: nsrsnap_vss_save -s "MyBackupServerName"

the backup complete successfully , but  it is not backing up all the csv volumes (only 3 of 7 guests, all of them are CSV)

if im running the "nsrsnap_vss_save -s  "MyBackupServerName" -?" command on the hyper-v server , i do get all the names of my CSV guests

i ran the NSRSNAP_VSS_SAVE -? command from one of the machines, why i see machines on different savesets ??

APPLICATIONS:\Cluster Shared Volume - saveset not supported by networker

APPLICATIONS\Microsoft Hyper-V\

this is the output :

I have the same issue.

The output of the command "NSRSNAP_VSS_SAVE -?" is showing different save sets (APPLICATIONS:\Cluster Shared Volume\VM Name).

Appreciate any help

Hello all,

This is actually not an issue at all, this is working as design.

I'll now explain the differences between both savesets:

APPLICATIONS:\Microsoft Hyper-V\proxydns -> This saveset is the name of the VM (and eventually the saveset you will have to use when configuring the client at VM level)

APPLICATIONS:\Cluster Shared Volume\2008hvtest -> This is just information about the CSVs currently configured in your Hyper-V environment.

So the savesets we aqre interested in are these ones:

APLICATIONS:\Microsoft Hyper-V

That is the saveset to be used to backup all VMs, the other savesets, as explained, it's just information about the CSV's, but nothing to be included in the client configuration.

Please let me know if you need any further information.

Thank you,

Carlos
