(CPSImportService::ImportCopy) ERR: Error calling importCopy, status=15:'Error during Exchange consistency check

Hello all,

we use NetWorker 7.6.5.Build.1160 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server.

After installation of these Windows and Exchange 2010 updates, the  exchange backup stands still.

Update Rollup 4 for Exchange server 2010 SP3 (KB2905616),

Update KB2913602, KB2913431, KB2913152, KB2904266,

KB2898785, KB2893294, KB2892074, KB2887069, KB2862330,

KB2847077, KB2891804.

I used the eseutil for testing the Exchange consistency, and the transaction log. All is ok.

Can anyone help me please?

Hi Andreas,

I've checked the logs and found that consistency check is failing to check the logs (either header or sequence):

2014 02 05 23:01:40 (7656) main.

024147 ERROR:The consistency check for PublicFoldersDB failed with error ERROR: pccheck->ErrCheckLogs failed with error -1032

. The error code is -1032. See the application event log for more information. /*e*/

Please check the Application event logs (and also System and Exchange just in case) to find more information, but in the meantime please check the following:

Backups of exchange storage group fail. The following error is  seen in the windows Application event log:

RM .. 024147 ERROR:The consistency check for SG1 failed with  error ERROR: Database header validation for  'c:\mount\Edrive\ExchangeData\SG1Data\SG1MBX1.edb' failed with  error -1032 (0xfffffbf8). The error code is -1032. See the  application event log for more information. 

The consistency check errors are seen only when backup is run.  A run of eseutlil does not report any errors with the  database.

Cause     

The 'log on' account for the 'Replication Manager Exchange  Interface'  has 'Exchange View-only Administrator' role.  This consistency check is performed using this account and this  account does not have full administrative rights to the exchange  server.

Resolution     

The log on account used for the 'Replication Manager  Interface' should have the 'Exchange Organization Administrator'  Role. The 'Exchange View-only Administrator' role does not give  enough rights to perform a consistency check on the database.

Provide 'Exchange Organization administrator role' to the log  on account for Replication Manager Exchange Interface service.  This can be done with Exchange Management console.

Hi Amlas,

1.Ensure the rmps.res file exists and is defined correctly. The following is an example of a default rmps.res file:


type: RM Service Ports;
Control Port: 6728;
Data Port: 6729;

2.Stop and restart the 'Replication Manager Client for RMAgentPS' service

3. Ensure ports defined for RM service (6728 and 6729) are not in use by any other application.


If you are still facing the same issue please check the Replication Manager log files.

at first, thank you for your message!

I checked the following points:

1. the rmps.res file exists and is defined as followed:

     type: RM Service Ports;
      Control Port: 6728;
      Data Port: 6729;

2. 'Replication Manager Client for RMAgentPS' service was restarted

3. The port 6728 is only used by the RM service

The problem still exists.

I can’t check the Replication Manager log files, because I can’t find it at our system.


Do you have any ideas?

Logs of Replication Manger Agent are located under:

C:\Program Files\EMC NetWorker\nsr\rmagentps\logs (Or same path in the installation folder you selected during installation).

Please check the files called:

client2014_xx_yy_zz_aa_aa_debug.log

client2014_xx_yy_zz_aa_aa_detail.log

client2014_xx_yy_zz_aa_aa_summary.log

where xx_yy_zz is the date of the latest backup.

Hello Carlos,

today back in work, the log on account used for the 'Replication Manager  Interface' has now the 'Exchange Organization Administrator'  Role. I set the Replication Manager Interface Service to automatic on the Exchange Server 2010. And gave the backup log on account on the Exchange Server local Admin rights. Now it works again with NSR_EXCH_CHECK.

The last days i set it off NSR_EXCH_CHECK=No to get backup working.
