DB Configuration
Hi All,
While configuring RMAN Backup, I am getting error as ORA-01017: Invalid username/password; logon denied.
Steps Followed:
1. Same credential working when i am loging into DB directly as "sqlplus 'usernam/passwprd'"
2. Installed NMDA
3. Soft link created as "ln -s /usr/lib/libnsrora.so libobk.so"
4. Registered nmda for oracle as " nsrorara -i"
No luck. Am I missed anything? Please advice asap.
Thanks,
Samuel

Can I have the path for RMAN Script?
Moreover I am in the "Specify the Oracle Information" Steps in Client Backup Configuration wizard.
Please let me know the path & file for RMAN Script.
Thanks,
Samuel Thomas

Yes I am very sure about case sensitive.. But i am using RMAN user to do configuration... Even for other DB's i used to have RMAN as a user.. I believe there wouldn't be any issue with user..

For the user name did you try giving sysdba credentials, also ensure that the net service name provided is correct and case sensitive.

Just to be sure can you try using the sysdba user, i had similar issue. Incase you are not using the wizard for the backup configuration the other user usually works.

Try to use password file using the following command
orapwd file=$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/orapw$ORACLE_SID password=password entries=5 force=y
and make sure you grant the user the sysdba permission
this worked for me

crazyrov actually i am trying with user having SYSDBA permission. But still i am missing something there..
FYI, I can log in to the DBA with those credentials from OS.. So there was no problem with oracle user credentials..

Hi All,
I got solution for this issue. That I was able to login with server but not able to connect with RMAN utility.
Requested DBA to create a new user with complete permission & tried. Now Its working fine.
Command to connect with RMAN utility,
$rman target username/password@tns_service_name
Thanks again to all..
