File Created with (.) EXTN in NDMP backup fails
HI,
All the savesets in the NDMP backups completed successfully except some of the files which are failed. Please see the below log and suggest to resolve this issue.
Note : Will networker accept the file created with (.) and what is read. Stale handle.???

42617:nsrndmp_save: NDMP Service Log: Unable to open /sap_fs85/syslogs/splunk/var/lib/splunk/_internaldb/db/Hosts.data to read. Stale handle .

Stale handle implies that the path to the file is no longer valid. Perhaps the file got changed during backups? IS your SAP application running during backups?
NetWorker will backup any file, with or without extension.
