Hyper V Backup Failing

you still have an Access denied error during the Mount Phase.

Is you Domain Accoiunt for the Backup memeber of the Local Groups according to the Guide and Carlos Metions Above ?

we should first start with the local Permissions.

For the User starting the Backup according to the Saveset:

( in my Case HyperVBackupUser),

verify with net localgoup if the User is Part of the According Groups:

Note: The Backup runs with System account iuf we do not specify a User Here, but you might not be able to restore then.

Wagt is your Backup User for HyperV

Is it in the Local Groups ?

If yes we continue to the next step !

you have to set the Domain user you granted all the permissions mentioned earlier in the remote user field of thr virtual node client.

copy them to one of your Cluster nodes.

watch-clusterevents will call watch-backupevents for each node in the Cluster, giving you a view what gets to the eventlog for VSS and NMM

good Progress :-)

So there was an Issue during the Hyper-V Checkpoint Creation.

Now Comes some important Test steps:

Make sure Client Retries is set to 0 for the Group

Please set NSR_VSS_FULL_BACKUP=no in the Saveset  for the test.

Use only 1 CSV in the Saveset for the Test.

For the Windows VM´s make sure there is a SCSI Contoller attached in the vm ( Microsoft requirement for VSS Mount)

IDuring the Backup, watch the VM´s from HyperV Manager Or Clusteradmin. They wilkl Show State of Backup from HyperVManger or Locked from Clsuteradmin

Hello Kaiser,

Did you check HyperV_Guy's suggestions?

Also please run the following command and please attach the output:

nsrsnap_vss_save -s NW_SERVER_NAME -?

Where NW_SERVER_NAME is the name of your NetWorker server.

Also, have you checked the Application and System event logs?
