Hyper-V host not seen as having valid saveset IDs
Hi,
I have a cluster cluster1 with 4 hyper-V hosts in in HOP209, HOP210, HOP216 and HOP218. They all run Win2008-R2. When i run the command nsrsnap_vss_save -s s-olaf-lgt2 -?, the host HOP210 is not listed anymore are having valid savesets to backup. What can be the reason for this ? What can i do ?
And a backup of a VM on HOP209 also fails now ?

Hello JohanRM
Have you ran the same command on host HOP210? If so, what is the outcome?
Have you tried restarting NMM services on that host?
Was there any change done on that host?
Have you checked the application and system event logs on that host?
The failure of the backup could be related to host HOP210 not listing any saveset.
Thank you,
Carlos

Hi carlos,
1. same command on HOP210 gives same result -> no valid savesets on HOP210
2. NW 8.1.1.9 and NMM301 are installed on HOP210. 3 nsr services are running: monitor, snap and remote exec. Do i need another service to be there ?
3. Not that i know. So, i don't think so.
4. Application logs on HOP210: networker: The system cannot find the specified path
5. System logs: looks fine related to Networker ...

Hi Johan,
You need to restart the following services on HOP210:
- NetWorker Remote Exec Service
- NetWorker PowerSnap Service
- Replication Manager Client for RMAgentPS
The service Replication Manager Exchange Interface has to be stopped and status manual.
Thank you,
Carlos

Hello Johan,
Please ensure that:
- Name resolution and ping works fine on All Physical nodes ( for all interfaces )
- No error reported in the NMM config checker
- Compatible versions of Networker client and NMM installed on all Physical nodes
- All Physical nodes and Cluster nodes are listed as clients in NMC
Please check the status of the Hyper-V writer.
Please uninstall and reinstall NMM as looks like if NMM could not communicate with the Hyper-V writer.
If these steps didn't solve the issue, as this will require more advanced troubleshooting I would kindly ask you to open a Service Request with support.
Please let me know the SR number and I'll take a look.
Thank you,
Carlos
