Is it the DB level backup for Lotus Domino

We are trying to evaluate the Lotus Domino Backup through Networker 7.6

We are setting the Saveset parameter to  : D:\Lotus\Domino\Data

It is taking the backup of all files.

How do i come to know the Backup which is happening is Database level?

On the Client Domino Server, we have installed the Normal Windows Agent.

Thanks,

On domino server, you need to install both Windows client as well as Module for Lotus-Windows Client. What gets backed up is based on the save set and the config file you configure for the backups. Check details from the install & admin guides.

The thing is, we havent installed the Lotus Agent on the Domino server. It is having only windows Agent.

Still it is backing up all the NSF files.

How it is possible?

We have tried it through another backup Software "Symantec Backup exec", their it skips all the nsf files stating "files are in use"

How the networker is taking the backup of NSF fiiles without Lotus Domino Agent?

Thanks,

Hi. Thanks for the reply. This is what I wanted.

Thats why we were wondering, why the Disk space is suddenly getting occupied when the backup was happening.

We have tested the restore for number of files and it is running successfull.

So I think, we dont need to buy the Lotus Domino Module as of now.

Thanks.

Ideally, Networker should also skip nsf files with the error that the files are in use. If it is still backing up without agent, then it might be using Windows VSS services for the same. How are you sure that the nsf files are getting backed up?
