5> How we know in backup server someonw did the changes ? any logs created whatever we change ?

yes, you may use the rap logs. you may follow the below process :

To monitor what changes are made to NetWorker resources and by whom, the 'Monitor RAP' function must be enabled:

- From the NetWorker Management Console, click the Enterprise button.

- Select your NetWorker server from the tree on the left.

- Double-click NetWorker in the right-hand pane to open the NetWorker Administrator GUI.

- Click the Configuration button.

- On the View menu, make sure that Diagnostic Mode is checked.

- Right-click the NetWorker server, the root node of the tree on the left, then click Properties.

- On the Setup tab, change Monitor RAP from Disabled to Enabled.

This function will log NetWorker configuration changes in a file called rap.log, created in the NetWorker logs directory.

The default file locations are:

C:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\logs\rap.log (Windows)

/nsr/logs/rap.log (Linux / UNIX)

The Answer to the other questions are as below :

2> If the backup is happen fine for any particular client but index got failed so it is possible to restore  that particular date?

I dont think you can restore that particular client in the normal process. However if you would like to restore data thats on the tape you may try the uasm command.

3> is it possible to restore the abotred saveset and any command(steps)?

again yes. you may use uasm command to do so.

4>  after completed the stages , how we know which clients or saveset not stage , means failed ?

you may use mminfo to check this or even use the NW NMC.

Hi

If you go to Powerlink at:

Home  >  Support  >  Technical Documentation and Advisories  > Software ~ J-O ~ Documentation  >  NetWorker Family  > NetWorker Modules

You will see a list of all of the NetWorker modules that are available.
Just click on them to be brought to all of the important documentation concerning these.

I think you may be referring to the two new NetWorker Modules:

NetWorker Module for Databases and Applications

NetWorker Module for Microsoft Applications

The two new modules Networker Module for Databases and Applications (NMDA) and Networker Module for Microsoft (NMM) has been released in the market. The following is the detail :

EMC® NetWorker® Module for Databases and Applications (NMDA) release 1.0 is

an add-on module for the NetWorker server that enables you to perform the

following tasks:

Manual database or application backups

Scheduled database or application backups

Restores of database or application backup data

Automated media management

NMDA replaces all the following NetWorker modules:

NetWorker Module for DB2 (NMDB2)

NetWorker Module for Informix (NMI)

NetWorker Module for Lotus (NML)

NetWorker Module for Oracle (NMO)

NetWorker Module for Sybase (NMS)

NMDA software provides all the features and functionality that were previously

included in these other NetWorker modules, along with new enhancements.

Networker Module for Microsoft provides backup for the following Microsoft application :

• Microsoft Exchange Server 2007

• Microsoft Exchange Server 2003

• Microsoft SQL Server 2008

• Microsoft SQL Server 2005

• Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

• Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003

• Windows SharePoint Services 3.0

• Windows SharePoint Services 2.0

• Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2007

• Windows Server 2008 with Hyper-V

• Windows Server 2008, Server Core Installation, with Hyper-V

• Windows volumes and system components

• Windows Cluster support

• Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM)

• Active Directory

So in short, in the near future we may have just two modules for various DB and Microsoft applications

Thanks
