Can I have any free online free classes?
here the deduplication is source side or destination side? and what is source side and destination side deduplication?
can you explain in detail?????
Destination Site Deduplication = eleminating duplicate data at DD
Source Site Deduplication = eleminating duplicate data already at the data source (where the disks are attached)
Obvious result: less data to transfer
CIFS = Common Internet File System The Windows specific, native file system
NFS = NetWork File System The UNIX/Linux specific file system
You may also use a DD as a 'standard' disk system if you so not want to use DDBoost.
DD provides destination site inline variable length deduplication.....DDBoost cannot be explained in one line...its a proprietary protocol designed by Dell EMC and supported by list of other Backup solutions as well apart from NetWorker and Avamar.
Take a look at this:

Can anybody explain CIFS and NFS protocols in DD BOOST?
