Netwoker Connect with the Tape Library
Hi, We have the NW 9.1 installed on a VM and now we want to connect a tape library to it. Can we do it or we need to deploy new NW storage node on a physical host and attach the tape library via Zoning ? Pls advised. Thanks, Pasindu.

You will need a physical host to do a FC connect to the tape library, so the 2nd option is the one to go with.

We discussed that internally a while ago and came to the conclusion that such might work ... if you consider quite a bunch of other parameters. In general, it would be possible, if the NW servers sees the device via 'inquire'.
Of course, hardware dependencies would not always allow to migrate the VM.
Consequently, we then decided to migrate our clone tapes to an ECS cloud before we migrated the backup server from a hardware box to a VM.
