Networker 8.2 console backups failing
Recently upgraded to Networker 8.2.2.3 from v. 8.2.1
Message:

Troubleshooting performed:
Repaired console installation
Reinstalled console and DB, moving from original location in "Program Files (x86)\Legato\Management" to "Program Files\EMC Networker\Management"
Verified SYSTEM has permission to install dirs and DB dir.
Backup also fails from CLI with this output:

I'm first looking at the first part of the message where switch a is mentioned. As for permission denied, I can't say much as it may be due to user. Assuming you have NMC on separate dedicated box, you can remove 8.2.2.3 and place 8.2.1.8 instead and see if that combo works (assuming server is 8.2.2.3 and NMC 8.2.1.8). That way you can see which combo and where does the issue arise from. I'm still at 8.2.1.8 and my plans for SP2 are move over once 8.2.2.5 is out as it will contain patch that I need, but it is possible that specific issue exists with 8.2.2.3 and it may be also platform specific (eg. Windows).

Thanks Adeelemc. Due to time constraints I just downgraded to 8.2.1.8 and all is good now. Will probably follow Hrvoje's path of waiting for 8.2.2.5 before going up again.

This is now also fixed in 8.2.2.4 which has been released (NetWorker and NMM 8.2.2.4 released).

I have had this same issue with the Access Denied message for the NMC backup. I have been troubleshooting this for quite some time and have not made any progress. I checked the Read Me text file for version 8.2.2.4 and it specifically states that 8.2.2.3 had a known issue for this. It sounds like the best option is to upgrade to 8.2.2.4 to resolve the issue, as long as 8.2.2.4 does not have an issue!

we had same exact issue we then upgraded to 8.2.2.5 and fixed issue.
