Networker Bootstap and Index issue
Hi guys,
I have the following issue.
Environment:
Backup server: Networker 7.6.4. Build 1039, OS: SLES 11SP2
Dedicated Storage Node: NW 7.6.4. Build 1039, OS: MS Windows 2008 R2;
Backup device: DD610; DD Boost software.
I use DD Boost device (CIFS share) to perform backups. Backups are going pretty well but when the Indexes and Booststap should be stare the group failed.
I studied the situation and found the possible reason:
Backup server is running on SLES and could not write on DD boost device on DSN (CIFS share). Meanwhile there's no default pool and free tapes, so most probably this is the reason?
I am right? How can resolve the issue?
The customer would like to have Bootstraps and Indexes stored after each backup!
Best regards,
Mario

The ovbious problem is that the bootstrap must be sent to a local attached while the index backups can also use a remote device.
Create the missing device and label the media to the same pool. Good luck.
