Networker nmsap 8.2 saphana
Hi all,
i've a question :
where is the location ,on saphana server, of init_hana_nmsap.utl (costumized) for saphana scheduled backup without wizard?
is it sufficient to specify the utl file location on saphana studio interface?
thx in advance,
-Nicola

Thank you
reading the documentation ,for oracle sap is specified ../dbs (as always). For "saphana" configuration without wizard this is not specified ..i'm not sure the path exists

Normally it is under $ORACLE_HOME/dbs.

Hi Zennaro,
For HANA, check /usr/sap/SID/global/hdb/opt/hdbconfig
replace SID with the actual database ID...
Good Luck!

If you ssh to appliance you can do echo $ORACLE_HOME or just cd $ORACLE_HOME/dbs and then pwd and you will see it where it is.

Thank you
one doubt ..from the installation guide :
You must manually create the opt subdirectory if it does not exist. SAP HANA
requires the hdbbackint program to be accessible from the
/usr/sap/SID/SYS/global/hdb/opt directory.
So /usr/sap/SID/global/hdb/opt/hdbconfig could not exist
For Sap wiht Oraacle there is a .sap file where you can specify the .utl PATH.
For Saphana where have i to set the .utl file or where can i specify the path ?
thx

For SAPhana you'll use hdbbackint placed in /usr/sap/SID/SYS/global/hdb/opt (where opt could not exist)
SapHana is quite different form normal sap with oracle
I've tried configuring it with wizard without any problem.
A costumer wants to use configuration without wizard...

Note also that you can control where backint is - though I can't confirm if this works with SAP HANA as well (with normal SAP it does). In my case, I do not have opt:
saphana:/usr/sap/B2Z/SYS/global/hdb # ll
total 52

-rw-r--r-- 1 b2zadm sapsys 187 Jun 10 13:44 versionhistory.csv
Note that I do not use NMSAP 8.2 here - this is test env so we use dump which I just pick up with NetWorker later on. In such setup, backint is placed in /hana/shared/ /global/hdb folder. Once you are on your system you can verify it and check for location by running find / -name backint -print.

It is opt that might be missing, not parent as you noted.
utl file you keep usually in the same place where sap file is - just as with normal SAP installation (though you could change it of course). Once of the system, just check where default sap/utl files are and create your own.

Hi all,
for completeness you can set .utl path on :
/usr/sap/ /SYS/global/hdb/custom/config/global.ini
If you set the path from SapHana studio you DON'T need to restart of SapHana DB.
If you set the path from OS you NEED to restart SapHana DB.

-Nicola
