SharePoint 2007 granular recovery issue

Hi everybody,

We are having got some problems with a SharePoint 2007 granular recovery by NMM 2.1 SP1 on Windows 2008 x64. Recovery process starts fine but no action occurs in logs, Backup Server ... only we can see in Windows Task Manager nsr_moss_recover.exe spends continuosly 13% of CPU usage.

If we enable the debug level for recovery, the Monitor of NetWorker User shows this:

myname()
exit myname(): / name
myname()
exit myname(): / name
myname()
exit myname(): / name
myname()
exit myname(): / name
myname()
exit myname(): / name

myname()
exit myname(): / name
myname()
exit myname(): / name
myname()
exit myname(): / name

exit myname(): / name

The version of NetWorker in Backup Server is 7.4.3.

Thanks a lot.

I believe granular stuff for MOSS is new in SP1 so I doubt many people have played around yet. Your best bet at this stage would be support call.

As usual your suggestions are welcome. I'll open case with support.
Thanks a lot.

Hello all,

This problem (and some others) are fixed in a HotFix. The HotFix was issued under LGTsc27822; a more complete description of the problem (as you and the blogger are seeing it) is under LGTsc28348 (which was closed as a duplicate of LGTsc27822).

The readme for the HotFix follows.

Thanks,
_Scott

A formal HotFix kit is ready that contains a fix to the problem described
in this case. This Hotfix is 2.1 SP1 Build 157 (2.1.1.157).

The kit is available to Support people at:

/usr/src/patches/NMM/2.1.1/build_157

This kit is installed as per the installation instructions for the NetWorker
Module for Microsoft Applications 2.1 SP1. The old NMM must be uninstalled,
and then the new version installed. The kit is supplied as a zipped file
and needs to be extracted.

This Hotfix kit contains this new fix:

LGTsc27822 - MOSS Granular: Recovery of custom permission level fails

Using Powerlink open a service request and request LGTsc27822 patch.

Hello Scott,

Thanks for news. Could you tell me where we can get that Hotfix? Maybe from Powerlink?

Best Regards.
