SharePoint2013 NMM VSS backup failing
We have a Sharepoint distrubuted farm which consists of two WFE(A,B) servers, two Application(Admin.Content Processing,Crawler,Index Partition) servers(C,D) and one SQL server(E) and we have configured NMM VSS Backup in which we have created client resource for all the 5 nodes and grouped together with saveset "APPLICATIONS:\Microsoft Office SharePoint Services" on A,B,C and D and E has the
saveset "APPLICATIONS:\SqlServerWriter".SQL Backup completed successfully but unable to backup the MS sharepoint services.
NMM VSS backups are failing with the following

What is the logon account set for your NetWorker service and NMM service?

Sharepoint Farm account on netwoker and NMM.
Networker Remoter Exec services running with SP Farm account
Networker Snapshot Management Service running with SP Farm account

Help me with your NW and NMM version, looks like you are on a version lower than 9.1.1.3.
There is a bug which has been fixed in 9.1.1.3 which use to cause failures due to stale ShadowCopySetResDB.res folder.

NW and NMM both are running with version 9.1.1.5

I thought networker 9.1 and above is using federated backup for SharePoint . U just need to add one client resource which is the primary WFE server into the policy . And the rest of sharepoint & SQL servers as dummy client resource , they are not supposed to be added into policy

Issue is fixed.
On the SQL Server Logs reported that saveset sent by SharePoint writer does not match with SQL server writer for SQL database.On the SQL server DB is named as ABC2017 and on the Sharepoint GUI the DB is named as abc2017.After matching the name abc2017 between SQL and Sharepoint ,backup completed successfully.

You are right NMM takes federated backup through Primary WFE , for troubleshooting purpose have created separate clients.

i wanted to do non-federated sharepoint so that i can do incremental VDI sql backup instead of VSS sql backup , u manage to do that ?
my database is about 2TB ( take 6 hours ) , size going to increase to 5TB .
think VSS full not possible to backup within backup windows .
