Unable to perform MSSQL backup/restore using unprivileged user after upgrading to NMM 18.2.0.1

Hello Experts We're currently upgrading our MSSQL-clients from 9.2.1.1 to 18.2.0.1. We were able to perform a MSSQL backup/restore using an unprivileged DB-user. After upgrading to 18.2.0.1 we are required to elevate user privileges to local admin in order to perform backup/restore operations. Can you confirm that requirements for user privileges have been changed between NMM 9.2.1.1 and 18.2.0.1? Since we are running multiple data bases on the same DB-server, we don't want to grant every DB-user local admin privileges. Can you recommend a way to isolate user privileges between databases but enable the user to perform backup-/restore-operations? Many thanks Christian

You could create a service account that both administrator access on the OS as well as the sysadmin privileges on the Database. Use this service account to run the NetWorker services on your SQL server or you can use these credentials on the client instance of this host on the NetWorker server. You DB admins can use this service account to launch the SQL user by using "Run as" option. But again this isn't very secure because your DB's can use "Run as" o anything on the OS. To answer your original question about the changes in permission, as far as i know a non administrator account was unable to run the NetWorker user for SQL earlier either not sure what changed on your system that it was working but not any more. Anyways, may be an SR with support get help get you clearer answers.
