Windows 2003R2 very slow backups

Using 7.6.1 to backup 20GB and 60GB drives on Windows 2003 R2 sp2 server. Getting 10 KB/S throughput backing up 😧 drive as shown by management console. Task manager showing 50-60% utilization by various java apps on the server, but backup task not showing much ram usage or cpu usage. Network not showing much activity either. Other Win2003R2 servers backup fine. Other app users are not complaining about slowness, so don't think overall server usage is a problem. No other backup jobs running on Networker server. Normally expect to see 30GB per hour throughput on my server backups to LTO4 tapes. Has dedicated backup NIC and network with no other activity on it. Other apps on client server are MYSQL and Java. I think this is a new situation, but doubt that anything has changed in the environment in the past couple of months. Parallelism set to 4 on client.

Have you tested ftp between server and client?

Just did and got 30947 KB/Sec for a 6 MB file. Backup still running at 4KB/sec.

Did you test both push and get from both sides? Besides, 6MB is nothing.... Do it against real thing.
