backup of raw devices
i have networker 7.3.1 and database Oracle 10g on hp UX operating on raw devices, iam asked to take cold backup to the database, meaning that the DBA shut the DB down and i want to take the contents (all data) on the raw devices i searched the power link for an approach to do so and i found a solution saying that i have to make a directive and inside it write <> then rawasm:
then paths of the raw devices, i did so but when i tried the backup it took only 17 k of each disk, which is not correct, if anyone have tried to backup the database raw devices before and it successes please send me the procedure step by step in details
Thanks all,

Second question is: Is the oracle located on RAW devices or ASM ?

not exactly, it looks like that
<>
rawasm:
c2t2d0
and so on
is this syntax incorrect?
i'm not sure if the db is running ASM but i think it's just on raw devices(what difference does this make)
thanks All,
