bootstarp backup failed on the server

Dear Experts!

We want to backup the NMC data base and the server bootstarp information. We use NW9.

However the backup is failed with the following error:

nsrauthcasm:

Th temporary file: C:\Program Files\EMC Networker\nsr\authc-server\tomcat\authcdb_00001

for backup did not get generated correctly

save: external ASM nsrauthcasm exited with error code

Do you have any suggestions how can we solve this program?

NW Server 9.0.1.8 on Windows 2012 R2

Confirmed, same problem and same solution.

1. Stop services

2. Rename nsr/tmp

3. Restart server (Start services)

I haven't seen this with 9.1 (skipped 9.0.x.), but I would try to run NMC backup from CLI to see more details about error.  Also, if this is one time only error then I guess something happened with balance of the force, but if it repeats itself it seems like some part of DB is not able to do its thing and this is where failure is coming from.

I opened a ticket with support and issue was resolved by renaming tmp folder.

I asked to know the root cause but they did not reply yet.

Hi!

Thanks a lot!

I will try it.

- You mean the nsr/tmp folder?

- You have to restart the networker services or not?

Yes, nsr\tmp

You will not be able to rename tmp unless all networker services are down.

Same issue happen to me on 9.1.1.2 on Windows 2012 R2 and same resolution.

1. Stop services

2. Delete nsr\tmp

3. Start Services

4. Run a new server db backup without any issue.
