Solved! Go to Solution.
Yes, Thats what it means.
From the Sub-Type list, select whether to create a VirtualMachine group, or a VMDK
group for disk level backup.
You can refer to the VMware Integration Guide, Chapter : VMware data protection policies in NMC
Hi,
- A full image backup job includes all disks in the entire virtual machine (VM) in a single image backup.
- Single VMDK Backup backup jobs allow you to select only the disks (VMDKs) you need.
I guess, that the Image Level Backup didn't backup the configuration files of the VM. Also, according to my experience, the Image Level Backup didn't allow to recover a single VMDK (at least not to the original location).

Michael
that mean if i backup vmdk sub-type i backup only hdd file without configuration files (vmx .....) ????
and if i backup virtualmachine sub-type i will backup all VM file and i can recover any file of them ????
