lgwstat: Failed to open file/directory

Dear Experts!

I have to backup Windows2012 server. It worker fine with 8.0.3 client, but we have to upgrade it to 8.2.3.

Unfortunately when we want to start a backup alwas ending with errors, we cannot open and cannot backup  any  files from the server.

I run the save process on the server, with debug mode:

save -D2 -b FILES C:\TEMP\dedupstat.txt

Debug output:

lgwstat: Failed to open file/directory

Writetracker: nsrwriter_stop: error: Null hProcess detected

Writetracker: nsrwriter_stop: error: releasing hWriterMutex

save workflow released nsrwriter lock

WriteTracked:nsrwriter_stop: Return FALSE

94693: save: The backup of save set: C:\TEMP\dedupstat.txt failed

94693: save: The backup of save set: C:\TEMP\dedupstat.txt failed

Any hints?

I tried:

- reinstall the client

- changing the service owner of the nsrexecd

- modify the peer certificates

Please help me to solve this problem ...

Hi!

Thanks for the quick reply.

This file is not locked, and backup is working with older versions. (8.0.3)

You suggest us to upgrade to 8.2.3.2?

This is obviously a known issue which has been addressed in NW 8.2.3.2, according to the info from the Cumulative Hotfixes readme file:

256012   liblocal function "lgwstat" can fail for locked files On Windows

So you should at least upgrade to this version.

Hi!

I tested it, unfortunately 8.2.1 and 8.1 doesnt work with this file server.

Only 8.0.3 client is working. This client doesnt use NW powersnap module.

Do you have any recommendations how can i solve this problem?

It is 8.2.3.2 (or higher) that you must use (right now it is 8.2.3.5).  Since it is win2k12 it will work on it.
