Re: 2708 Power Conect HELP vlans

Here is a hack.   You do not have enough ports to do this hack, so I will assume you do not need ports 7 and 8 and that port 6 is the only shared port.

Here is the high level idea:

- put port 1 in vlan 11 untagged/pvid 11, port 2 in vlan 12 untagged, port 3 in vlan 13 untagged, port 4 in vlan 14 untagged, port 5 in vlan 15 untagged.

- put ports 1-5 also in vlan 100 untagged

- put ports 6 and 7 in vlan 100 untagged/pvid 100

- put port 8 in vlans 11-15 and 100/pvid 100

- connect port 8 to port 7

The behaviour of this config is that ports 1-5 cannot talk to eachother but they can talk to port 6.   Port 6 can talk to ports 1-5.   If you need more ports, you can put a dumb switch on port 6.

Re: 2708 Power Conect HELP vlans

Great thank you, quick question is this was done on a 16 port switch or 48?

what would be the difference?

Re: 2708 Power Conect HELP vlans

This would work on any switch.   The difference is the port numbers you would use.

The description of your application stated 2708 and using all 8 ports.   This hack requires 2 ports, so for your application, the 2708 did not have enough ports.   With more ports, you may want to loop back 2 LAGs instead of 2 ports for more throughput portential.
