Adding a PC6248P to a existing production stack

Hello,

I haven't worked with there Dell Power Connect switches in a while so figured I'd ask a couple of questions here.

Currently have 3 stack members

All are PC6224P models.

I have a PC6248P unit which has a blank config on. It has the stacking module already inserted into the switch chassi and ready to go. I also have the stacking cable too.

1st question : Do I need to configure this PC6248P units configuration to match what's on the other 3 stack members or can I insert it with the black config so it can pick up the config from the stack master? I have no problem setting up the config manually but I figured I would ask here first.

2nd question :  firmware revision of 3.3.10.3 is what is on the 3 stack members . Should I be at the same firmware version on the PC6248P unit to avoid any weird problems?

3rd any other steps I should be doing here to get this to work correctly?

Thanks much!

Hi,

Yes, have the firmware at the same version. It is best to have no config and have it pull the config from the master.
