Clearing Fan Alarms
Hi
I have troubles with automatic clearing the Critical Alarm "Fan 2A is either removed, incorrectly installed, or not present"
in our system monitoring PowerEdge R640 via SNMPv2
Should I get some clearing trap after the fan replacement?
Or is it that way, that as the fan is replaced when the system is powered off. No failure is detected after next boot and no clearing trap will be sent?
Thanks

Should I get some clearing trap after the fan replacement? -> Hi there’s nothing you should do necessarily after fan replacement as long as the system is up and running with no issue.
Wish you a good one. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Hello @jglitch,
I am afraid not. Not all errors that are recovered send a closing error message.

I was expecting to get some clearing trap, such a
Fan Information
TRAPID DESCRIPTION CATEGORY SUBCATEGORY SEVERITY

from the Table 8. Fan Traps

Should such a SNMP trap come from iDRAC after Fan replacement?
Or from the other side, when is the SNMP trap with trapid 2155 send?
Thanks

Hello,
this trap is only for fan information, like speed and presence.
Thanks
