Configuration backup in a PowerConnect 2716
Is it possible? I use this switch with very specific VLAN configuration and port assignments and I would hate to loose this information if the switch needs to be reset. If not, is Dell planning on having this feature available in the next firmware upgrade?

It is not currently available but we do have plan to add this feature. Sorry for the inconvenience. BTW, the switch will retain its configuration during power cycle. It will only lose its configuration if you reset it to unmanaged mode. So for normal operation you should be OK and only have a problem if you turn the switch from managed to unmanaged mode.
In the future we plan to provide a way to save the configuration to a backup internally or offline and allow you to load it back if you went to unmanaged then back to managed again.
