Configure PowerConnect 6224F with GUI

is there a way to configure the PowerConnect 6224F with the builtin GUI Interface without having to first create a VLAN?

if there is not a way, what terminal emulator is usually used?

any feedback for this novice experience with the 6200 series is appreciated.

Page 10 of this document takes you step by step on connecting terminal to the switch.

support.dell.com/.../gsg_62.pdf

Other common terminal emulator is putty, there are several others available.

http://www.putty.org/

Once connected you need to set the switch IP address and log in information. Page 12 of the same documentation walks us through the initial configuration steps, which includes setting the IP address and log in information.

Once this information is set, you can then access the Web GUI based management, by opening a browser and browsing to the IP address and log in using the credentials that were set.

Let us know if you run into any snags.

Thanks.
