Dell 6200 - how to disable 'more' prompt of 'show running-config'

There must be a simple way to do it, but I can't find it.

I'm not aware of a way to disable "--More-- or (q)uit" output.  This feature is built into the firmware to help display list output that is longer than the screen. The 6200 CLI does not include the command "terminal length".  The PowerConnect 8024 does have that feature.

Hope this helps

I understand - thank you.

May I request to add this feature?

The best way to get that accomplished is to call in to technical support and ask for it to be submitted to the engineers for future firmware revisions.

Actually, there is a way to disable the "--More-- or (q)uit" output, at least on the PowerConnect switches I am using.

If you enter into user privilege mode using "en", and then run the "terminal length 0" command, it will disable all prompting from that point forward.

Just tried it on 6224 running 3.3.3.3

XXX#terminal length 0
                    ^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

Anyway, thanks for trying.

(Correction: Apologies!

I was wrong.

This command is not available on the 62XX series with 3.X firmware it appears.

I was looking at and performed this terminal command on an 8024F series running 4.1.1.9)

Gaash,

When you type "terminal length ?", does it give you any options or does it fail on the entire command?

I'm running a 6248 with version 3.2.0.7

Mike,

There is no 'terminal' command. Tested on 6248 running 3.3.3.3.

Any change to add this feature?

Gaash,

To answer your question, please do what Willy M previously posted:

For PowerConnect 3548 and 3448 switches the command is "terminal datadump"

This stops the "more" for the entire telnet session.
