Dell PowerConnect 2724 Managed Mode not working?

I recently acquired a dell powerconnect 2724 from a friend, and I cant seem to find the web interface. I tried the default IP addresses, and I looked on an app for listing all the IP addresses on the network, and the only dell thing was my PowerEdge R710. I made sure it was in managed mode and I tried resetting it. Suggestions?

From the factory, the PowerConnect 2708/2716/2724 units have a default IP address of 192.168.2.1   255.255.255.0 assigned. This IP address is assigned to management VLAN 1. Be sure not to delete management VLAN 1 or you will not be able to manage the switch. If the switch is unmanageable, and then change the switch to unmanaged mode and back to managed mode to reset the default settings.

Be sure that the client trying to access the switch is also in the 192.168.2.0 subnet. If the client is not in the same subnet it wont be able to access the 192.168.2.1 IP address. Also double check and make sure nothing else on the network has 192.168.2.1 assigned to it.

Keep us posted.

I have a Dell PowerConnect 2708 switch and noticed the managed mode green light does not come on anymore when I make a reset. I live in Austria and imagine there is no way to repair this swicht anymore. Regarding recyling a switch, is there anything I would have to do (return it to Dell) what maybe compliance concerns ?

Thank you for your time if you care to answer this !

Dell does offer some recycling services.

It is not uncommon to have local electronic recycle places. Have you checked to see if there are any located in your city?
