Dell PowerConnect Spanning Tree 2748

I just had a simple question about Spanning Tree. We have a network setup and everything already how hard is it to implement spanning tree on the powerconnect switches if you already have your network setup? is it an all day thing? Lots of configuring? Or just a simple turn on button?

Sorry, The PowerConnect 27xx series switches DO NOT support Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).

There are not other features i am seeing that would work in place of STP.

These are the port features i have found.

Ports may be managed in the following ways:

Port Types - 2 types of ports can be configured on the switch.

1000Base–TX — 10/100/1000BaseTX RJ–45 ports

1000Base–SFP — gigabit SFP transceiver ports

Enable/Disable Ports – network administrator can manually disable ports, if needed.

Auto-negotiation –- administrators can have the switch auto-negotiate ports settings.

Speed/Duplex – manual selection of port speed and duplex mode.

Flow Control – automatic or manual selection of support for flow control.

Backpressure – manual selection of back pressure for half–duplex links.
