Dell Powerconnect 62xx syslog Interface 0/3/3

Hi,

we have some network trouble with our main Dell Stack.

Stacked are 4 PowerConnect 6248P, in ring (1->2->3->4->1), all with the latest firmware.

At night we had a lot of Network diconnections with the syslog message:

traputil.c(610) 528463 %% 0/3/3 is transitioned from the Forwarding state to the Blocking state in instance 0

This message is logged 100 times per hour in night.

What is interface 0/3/3?

Regards

Hi, Can you check disable spanning tree or make it portfast on that interface and check if it has made any changes?

# spanning-tree disable

# spanning-tree portfast

Hope that helps!

Hi,

could I, but what kind of interface is it?

I don´t find that interface on switch.

Is it an ethernet Port, XG Port, Port-Channel, ...?

That`s the main question, what kind of interface is 0/3/3?

Regards

Hi,

on PowerConnect 6248 there are not such commands. But

#show interfaces switchport,

or config

#interface ethernet 0/3/3

show any interface.

Logging shows the message in my first post:

TRAPMGR[153198624]: traputil.c(610) 528462 %% 0/3/3 is transitioned from the Forwarding state to the Blocking state in instance 0

That´s what makes us a little nervous. Nobody, not even Dell partners, knows whats that for an interface on PowerConnect 6248.

Last week we spend over 3 hours with Dell partners, but nobody could help us.

Hi, I expected to "show logging" command works. Reference pg 1272 https://dell.to/3MHE60z

hmm... You're right I'm also confused about which port is it. It's hard to correlate which physical port with the above log. (at first, I thought it might be port is 0/g3) I'll try to figure out.

Hi helldunkel, I wasn't able to find how to determine it. Might be some devshell command that might help to figure out it but I'm not sure how to do that kind of I feel stucked. Just thinking loudly. Did you find something with partners?

Hi,

nope. Nobody knows what Dell makes here.

At the next years we must renew our datacenter infrastructure. I thinks it´s time to use an other switch manufacturer. Blackbox devices at this critical places isn´t really good.

Regards.
