Dell switch S3048-ON reboot after %ALM_CLOCK_UPDATE: Clock changed MESSAGE=Started Daily

I have got a switch which gets rebooted without any reason.
the only thing I could find is whenever the switch gets rebooted this log occurs:

show logging log-file | grep RESTART
<165>1 2022-02-11T21:19:39.885263+01:00 switchname dn_alm 877 - - Node.1-Unit.1:PRI [event], Dell EMC (OS10) %ALM_SYSTEM_RESTART: OS10 Event and Alarm management system restarted

switchname#

show logging log-file | grep MESSAGE=Started
<165>1 2022-02-11T21:19:39.698597+01:00 switchname dn_alm 877 - - Node.1-Unit.1:PRI [event], %ALM_CLOCK_UPDATE: Clock changed MESSAGE=Started Daily apt download activ ities.

is this normal when device reboots and I should look for the reason of the reboot somewhere else or that alert can cause this?

Hello, as I researched it seems like that reference link is https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/dell-emc-smartfabric-os10/os10-syslog-reference-guide/ALMCLOCK-system-log-message-reference?guid=guid-871b9824-e4d0-41db-b8ae-a65e68eb0a3a&lang=en-us&dgc=SM&cid=304571&lid=spr5585021491&linkId=133489552&lwp=rt

If its firmware is not up to date, it could be helpful to update to Dell OS10 10.5.4.1 or later versions to fix it.

Hope that helps!

Actually, I couldn't find any direct clue about that. I also suspected like you. On that warning, it says no action required but honestly I'm not convinced totally. Then I started to dig up a bit and I just saw a similar case and in it stated that they were using Dell OS10 10.5.3 and after updating it's gone.

Hi,
My question is that clock change alert causes the reboot, or it is the reboot which triggers that alert? it seems that clock change is causing the reboot to me

Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for the reply,
we are using  version 10.5.2.3.316. that upgrade solved the problem of that log or it was related to switch reboot too? we don't mind getting that log, we would like to know if this is realted to switch reboot or not

Thanks
