Enabling jumbo frames on LAG
Hi,
We have a couple of PowerConnect 6248, they are interconnected using a LAG of two 10GbE ports.
We want to enable jumbo frames for the devices connected to all ports and also for the LAG interconnecting the two switches.
Besides explicitly setting the MTU to 9216 for every port (e.g. configure -> interface ethernet 1/g1 -> mtu 9216), do we need to set that on the LAG also (e.g. configure -> interface port-channel 1 -> mtu 9216)?
Thanks.

Yes. You must configure the MTU on the LAG also.

Thanks for the reply.
What if we don't enable jumbo frames for the LAG?
Traffic using jumbo frames won't be able to pass through the LAG at all or will it be "fragmented" (and thus slower)?
Thanks.

Traffic will be dropped. The switch does not fragment and re-assemble.
