Force10 MXL (in M1000e) 40GbE on board ports do 40GbE iSCSI?
Disclaimer: I'm not a networking tech.
I would like to know if the two built-in external 40GbE ports on the base module, Force10 MXL (ports 33 and 37), can be used for 40GbE iSCSI traffic. I have external storage with 40GbE iSCSI ports that I would like to talk to the chassis/blades via these on board ports.

Hi,
It is not mentioned anywhere that I can find, but I don’t see why not they are normal 40Gb ports so they should be able to use iscsi.

Yes, you can use the 40Gbs QSFP ports for iSCSI. They can be used for native 40Gbps speed or 4 x 10Gbps breakout mode. Just be sure to use 802.3x flow control when necessary.
However, the QSFP ports are typically used for interconnect (stack/port-channel) between other switches or as an uplink to a distribution switch.
