oddhome, if you have gone through the recovery steps outlines in previous posts, and are still getting the uboot prompt. It would be best to call into your local support group and get a case open.

I have the same issue.  Switch does not get to boot menu.  tftpboot does not work.  Does anyone have instructions for reloading from u-boot.

That link is for the N2000 series switch. Let me know if you have a different model.

Here is a link for downloading the latest image: https://dell.to/1DdmFMd

The process outlined in the thread you linked is the correct method for recovery. Let me know if there is a certain step that doesn't seem to work, or if you have a specific question about the process.

The reason I provided a link to the firmware, is because in your console output is shows that the wrong image is being used.

"Wrong Image Format for bootm command"

Are you still getting this message when trying to recover the switch? Or has it changed to a different message. If you could include additional console output to help show the current state of the switch. Please detail any steps you tried to follow, but ran into error messages, or just in general steps that were not able to be completed.

This additional information will help guide our troubleshooting efforts.

Hi Daniel...

I have the same issue with the N1548. I only have the u-boot menu, with this information:

Usage:
ubifsload [bytes]
- load file 'filename' to address 'addr'
Wrong Image Format for bootm command
ERROR: can't get kernel image!
Saving Environment to NAND...
Erasing Nand...
Erasing at 0x160000 -- 100% complete.
Writing to Nand... done
/image2 not found!
ubifsload - load file from an UBIFS filesystem

Usage:
ubifsload [bytes]
- load file 'filename' to address 'addr'
Wrong Image Format for bootm command
ERROR: can't get kernel image!
u-boot>

This is a brand new switch,

Regards...

Being a new switch, I encourage you to contact customer care at 1 (800) 624-9897. Customer care will be better situated to hand the exchange of a new product, especially within that initial 30 days of ownership.
